The Role of Hingham and New England in Slavery & the Triangular Trade

Tickets are available for this lecture via Zoom with Hingham resident, Wayne Eckerson sponsored by the Hingham Historical Society. In the lecture, Q&A and post lecture discussion, we will examine the nature of slavery in New England and the region and the role of Hingham in the Triangular Trade. Based on records volunteer historians and researchers have uncovered so far, the lecture will shed light on the life of enslaved people in Hingham during the 18th century. The third lecture in the Society’s seven-part series “Benjamin Lincoln’s World: Stories from Colonial Hingham to the Early Republic,” tickets are $30 and on sale now. Wayne Eckerson, Hingham resident and Society volunteer, runs a research and consulting firm that specializes in data and analytics. Wayne studied American history at Williams College and Wesleyan University.
